THE SENSES-FACE-TO-FACE ENVIRONMENT-FIRST GRADE

 Presentation

Sensory play

To start, the teacher will make 5 groups and they'll be stations play. Children will have to perceive the elements of each station for 5 minutes and then they'll rotate to the next one. The teacher will place materials in each station as follows:

Station A: items with different textures such as cotton, sandpaper, push pop it, tree leaves, sand, play dough, etc.

Station B: items with different flavors such as candies, lemon juice, salt food, cookie pieces and cheese, vinaigrette, etc.

Station C: items with different smells such as cinnamon, vanilla, onion, coffee beans, fragrant flowers, aromatic herbs, etc.

Station D: tracks of different musical elements.

Station E: a poster with different elements and questions regarding the objects seen on the poster.

At stations A, B, C, and D, students will cover their eyes.

Once all the students have gone through all the stations. The teacher will feedback activity-oriented with the following questions:

 What parts of your body did you use to explore the elements of each season?

  What textures did you feel at station A?

 What flavors did you taste at station B?

 What odors did you smell at station C?

 What sounds did you hear at station D?

 What items did they discover on the poster at Station E?

As the feedback takes place, the teacher writes on the board a list of keywords such as the parts of the body students mention, the smells, textures, sounds, flavors, and some actions that were carried out such as listening, seeing, tasting, feel, smell, etc. 

Practice

After feedback, the teacher will show them a video and then they will talk about what was seen it, linking what was done in the initial activity with the information in the video.

Then they will complement what they have seen with the following information. Students will write it in their Natural Science notebooks.

Production

Students develop the following worksheet, with a guide to the teacher.



Evaluation

For this stage, students will develop a Kahoot gameplay. So that they can answer each question, the teacher will give students Kahoot cards for them to participate in the activity. Students must rise up the card with the correct option. Win who answers more right questions.
